“Ending Violence Against Women and Girls”
Discussion will address widespread traditional practices, such as forced marriage, female genital mutilation/cutting; femicide sexual violence, sexual harassment and trafficking of women. Action steps will identify necessary next steps for addressing, reducing and eventually eliminating violence against women.

Session Two: Women, the Girl-Child and Healthcare
“Crisis in Maternal and Healthcare for Women and Girls”
This session will cover: 1) a global strategy for providing access to maternity and general healthcare for women, 2) vision and principles of maternity care and equality in healthcare for women and girls, and 3) action steps for achieving a global and local strategy of access to health for all women and most particularly for childbearing women.

“Gender, Culture, Age and Power”
Globally women systematically have limited power in social, political, and religious institutions. Politics of race and gender are often viewed oppositional. Topics will how age discrimination further diminishes the political and economic power of women.

Session Four: Women, Poverty and Economic Development
“Feminizing the Issue of Water”
More than half of the 1.2 billion people who do not have access to water are women and girls. Discussion will cover how to: a) provide women technology and training for social and economic development through water and sanitation needs; b) address the day-to-day practical needs of water management and water and sanitation service delivery and c) empower women to achieve local ownership.

Session Five: Mentoring Young Women and Girls
“Not For Ourselves Alone: Mentoring Young Women to Lead”
Women today still do not participate equally in political and decision-making processes. The reality remains that higher the position and area of influence the less women are involved. This session will discuss how to encourage young women to participate more in politics through mentoring and empowering them to take charge and utilize their knowledge and energies to become a voice in the political system.
